La Maison du Bonheur is not your typical French Cottage. With four Star amenities and appliances in a 3 Star package, this home faces the Charente River where guests love to swim, kayak and paddleboard. Rentals are locally sourced.
​The original wooden stairs and rafters have been kept, and modern and comfortable furniture mixes well with the eclectic décor. Its not too big and its not too fussy. Plain and simply its a ‘great find’!
Our international guests love to swim in the river opposite the house and families enjoy hours of fun on the rope swing and kayaking around the island below Chateau Bourg of Grand Marnier fame.
This property is situated in the Grand Champagne 1er Cru du Cognac, the finest Cognac grape growing area of Cognac.

This house is ideally situated between Jarnac and Cognac with RN141 just 1.2kms away for further exploration of the Charente. We are just 3kms from Golf Cognac and you can walk/run/cycle the river-side track between Cognac and Jarnac.

THE COGNAC COUNTRY
Whether your party is 2 or 4 people, this Maison can accommodate you with a double bed and two single beds. Having two toilettes is a bonus, but you will have to share the bathroom. There is always laundry, even on vacation, and we provide for it. Let us know what we can do to make your vacation in this location the BEST EVER!

RELAX! UNWIND! BREATHE!
We really do believe you need to do all three. There is nothing in the world you HAVE to do, when you finally unpack. Let your worldly worries go, find a glass for that wine that is cooling in the fridge or heat the kettle for a tea or coffee. Take a seat outside on the iron bench and watch the world go by. BREATHE! This is what vacations are all about. You are in France, you are surrounded by ancient buildings, beautiful chateaux, rivers for swimming and boating and vines that delight the eye with their orderly rows far into the distance, and nothing to do if you don’t want to.

Bourg-Charente est un petit village charmant et calme et, bien que situé sur la place du village, et devant l’accès d’un (Bon) restaurant, la maison est au calme. Elle est très bien aménagée et joliment décorée. Les équipements sont complet. Le jardin, situé à une minute de la maison par une petite venelle, est très agréable. Quant à l’accueil de Monica et son époux, il est parfait. Merci à eux. Je recommande cette location !
Bourg-Charente is a small, charming and quiet village and, although located on the village square, and in front of the access to a (Good) restaurant, the house is quiet. It is very well appointed and nicely decorated. The equipment is complete. The garden, located one minute from the house via a small alley, is very pleasant. As for the reception of Monica and her husband, it is perfect. Thanks to them. I recommend this rental!
